2018 Fit For Cancer Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register for Fit for Cancer online? Go to the register here button and complete the form. You will be guided through the registration process. Once your transaction is complete, you will receive a confirmation email receipt.
Can friends and family make a donation to a Participant by going through the main website? Yes. On the home page of the website, friends and family can locate a Participant by clicking on the "Sponsor Participant" button. By typing in the name of the Participant, they will be directed to the Participant's personalized pledge page.
Is a portion of the registration fee a donation? Yes. Your donation amount is the amount you paid for registration minus the gift value (if applicable). This donation amount will appear in your running donation totals. However, TeamRaiser does not recognize your registration fee as a donation and it will not earn you a Self Donation Badge. Please go to How to get a Self Donation Badge for more information.
How to get a Self Donation Badge?
The Self Donation badge can only be triggered if you make a donation to yourself. The Registration fee will not trigger the Self Donation Badge. The self-donor badge as the badge will only indicate donations beyond the registration fee.
Participants must make an additional donation to receive this badge. To ensure you receive this badge, make this donation after you have registered by searching for your name from the "Sponsor an Individual" option of the "DONATE" drop-down menu.
The badge will not be triggered if you make an additional donation during the registration process as this is considered an event gift and not a donation to your fundraising goal.
How to earn a Milestone Badge?
Participants will receive a milestone badge after they meet the suggested fundraising goal of $350. It's as simple as asking 7 people to sponsor you for $50 each.
Please note: You do not have to fundraise to particapate in Fit For Cancer.
Where should I turn in my money?
Money can be donated either online through this website using a credit card, or collected and mailed directly to the Hunterdon Healthcare Foundation. You can encourage your donors to send funds directly to us as well via check. We will keep running totals online. Or, you can collect the money yourself (make sure checks are payable to "HH Foundation" for the donor to be eligible for a tax deduction), and drop it off or mail it to the Foundation office at 9100 Wescott Drive, Suite 202, Flemington, NJ 08822.
Do I need to be a member
of Hunterdon Health & Wellness to participate?
No, membership is not required to participate. Also, members can participate at either facility regardless of where they are a member.
I don't feel like I'm in shape, am I taking on too much?
You do need to train for this, but it is easier than you may think. If you get in a minimum of 2 fitness classes or equivalent workouts each week, eat well, and cross-train, you will be just fine. Besides, the challenge that we are taking on is minimal compared to the challenge that cancer patients are facing.
How can I see who has donated to me? Go to the Log-in section on the site. Use the Username and Password that you received when you registered for the event. You can then view your Donor list and the amounts that have been donated.
How does Hunterdon Healthcare Foundation utilize the contributions?
The funds are raised to support the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center. You can also visit our website at foundation.hunterdonhealthcare.org or call us at (908) 788-6141 for more information.
Why is Hunterdon Regional
Cancer Center the recipient of this event?
Because we are so lucky to have a top-notch cancer treatment facility close to home. If you have ever been through cancer treatment or been close to someone who has, you realize the value of not having to travel to be treated. And, the more help we can give HRCC, the more patient education, cancer prevention and treatment, and early detection they can provide to our community.
